Beetroot - A Juicy Cure

Beets are a great health food. They fight cancer so well that you have to be cautious. They also fight birth defects and vision problems.

Beets first appeared in the coasts of the Mediterranean, and were grown for their greens, as Swiss Chard still is. A couple of thousand years ago they also started eating the roots. Now many gardeners cook up some beet greens and some beetroot in the same meal.

Dr Ferenczi in Csoma hospital in Hungary has been using raw beets to cure cancer, and nothing else since the late 1950s. The only problem is the same one as you get with heroic injections of vitamin C. If you eat too much raw beetroot, it can kill the cancer faster than your liver can dispose of the waste products. So if you have a large cancer, start with small quantities of beetroot, and gradually increase them until you start to feel unwell, and then back off the amount. You may get a fever if your liver is being asked to work too hard.

You could probably get the same results with vitamin C injections, but having to increase the quantity gradually would mean multiple injections, whereas raw beetroot tastes good.

You can buy dried beetroot powder in many health food shops. That allows you to use large quantities, so remember the precaution.

There is quite a high level of oxalic acid in the tops (bad for you) so you should probably steam them. You can have two stacked pots, the upper with perforated bottom, and a lid. Put water in the lower and greens in the top and boil until the greens start to collapse a little. Season to taste. Another way is to have a bamboo or other perforated platform for the tops, inside a single pot with boiling water. It is the steam that does the cooking. Don't leave them till they are all collapsed and soggy. The less cooking you use the more healthy they will be.

Turmeric - A Curing Herb

Turmeric (curcuma longa), a member of the ginger family, is believed to have medicinal properties because it inhibits production of the inflammation-related enzyme cyclo-oxygenase 2 (COX-2), levels of which are abnormally high in certain inflammatory diseases and cancers, especially bowel and colon cancer. In fact, a pharmaceutical company Phytopharm in the UK hopes to introduce a natural product, P54, that contains certain volatile oils, which greatly increase the potency of the turmeric spice.
The anti-cancer effects of turmeric and curcumin have been demonstrated at all steps of cancer formation: initiation, promotion and progression. In addition to inhibiting the development of cancer, data obtained from several studies suggest that curcumin can also promote cancer regression when cancer is present. The protective effects of curcumin are only partially explained by its direct antioxidant effect. Other anti-cancer effects noted include the ability to: inhibit the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines; enhance the body's levels of anti-cancer compounds such as glutathione; and promote the proper detoxification of cancer-causing compounds by the liver. Animal studies have shown that curcumin causes a marked decrease in the extent of prostate cell proliferation and a significant increase in prostate cancer cell apoptosis (death). The authors suggest that curcumin could be a potentially therapeutic anti-cancer agent, as it significantly inhibits prostate cancer growth.

Tomatoes - A Red Juicy Cure

Tomatoes contain lycopene, an antioxidant that attacks roaming oxygen molecules, known as free radicals, that are suspected of triggering cancer. It appears that the hotter the weather, the more lycopene tomatoes produce. They also have vitamin C, an antioxidant which can prevent cellular damage that leads to cancer. Watermelons, carrots, and red peppers also contain these substances, but in lesser quantities. It is concentrated by cooking tomatoes. Scientists in Israel have shown that lycopene can kill mouth cancer cells. An increased intake of lycopene has already been linked to a reduced risk of breast, prostate, pancreas and colorectal cancer. (Note: Recent studies indicate that for proper absorption, the body also needs some oil along with lycopene.)
A famous Harvard study back in 1995 found that out of 48,000 men surveyed, those who ate 10 or more servings of tomatoes a week reduced their risk of prostate cancer by more than one-third. What’s more, they lowered their risk of aggressive prostate tumors (the kind that are really tough to treat) by half!

Green and Black Tea - A Curing Beverage

Teas: Green Tea and Black tea contain certain antioxidants known as polyphenols (catechins) which appear to prevent cancer cells from dividing. Green tea is best, followed by our more common black tea (herbal teas do not show this benefit). According to a report in the July 2001 issue of the Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, these polyphenols that are abundant in green tea, red wine and olive oil, may protect against various types of cancer. Dry green tea leaves, which are about 40% polyphenols by weight, may also reduce the risk of cancer of the stomach, lung, colon, rectum, liver and pancreas, study findings have suggested.
Bladder Cancer. One study compared people with and without bladder cancer. Researchers found that women who drank black tea and powdered green tea were less likely to develop bladder cancer. Another clinical study by the same group of researchers revealed that bladder cancer patients (particularly men) who drank green tea had a substantially better 5-year survival rate than those who did not.
Ovarian Cancer. Clinical research conducted on ovarian cancer patients in China, researchers found that women who drank at least one cup of green tea per day survived longer than those who didn’t drink green tea. In fact, those who drank the most green tea, lived the longest.
Skin Cancer. The main polyphenol in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Research suggests that EGCG and green tea polyphenols have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties that may help prevent the onset and growth of skin tumors.

Sweet Potato - A Nutritiously Sweet Cure

Sweet potatoes contain many anticancer properties, including beta-carotene, which may protect DNA in the cell nucleus from cancer-causing chemicals outside the nuclear membrane.
The healing power of the sweet potato: another good food that has received a bad name, taking blame for weight gain. The sweet potato is one of the most nutritious foods you can eat. It can help preserve your memory, control diabetes and reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer.
The sweet potato is a member of the morning glory family and except in name only, is not related to the white potato. It helps prevent cancer and heart disease. It is rich in complex carbohydrates and low in calories - there are only 117 calories in a 4-oz. serving. Sweet potatoes are used in controlling weight and conditions like diabetes. They are an easy way to get the heart healthy and to get cancer- fighting benefits into your diet. This information comes from the spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, Pamela Savage-Marr, R.D.
A little known fact about beta-carotene and vitamins C and vitamin E is the protection they give the blood vessels and certain parts of the eye. The sweet potato gives you half of your daily value of vitamin C in only a 4-oz. serving. The same serving gives you 20 percent of the daily value of vitamin E.
When buying sweet potatoes, look for the ones with the most orange color. They have the most beta-carotene. They have little fat, but they do require a little fat to get the vitamins into your system. It is easy to get the required five to seven grams from other foods in your meal.

Soy Products - A Foreign Cure

Soy products like tofu contain several types of phytoestrogens — weak, nonsteroidal estrogens that could help prevent both breast and prostate cancer by blocking and suppressing cancerous changes. There are a number of isoflavones in soy products, but research has shown that genistein is the most potent inhibitor of the growth and spread of cancerous cells. It appears to lower breast-cancer risk by inhibiting the growth of epithelial cells and new blood vessels that tumors require to flourish and is being scrutinized as a potential anti-cancer drug. However, there are some precautions to consider when adding soy to your diet. Eating up to 4 or 5 ounces of tofu or other soy a day is probably ok, but research is being done to see if loading up on soy could cause hormone imbalances that stimulate cancer growth. As a precaution, women who have breast cancer or are at high risk should talk to their doctors before taking pure isoflavone powder and pills, extracted from soy.

Seaweed - A Cure from the Sea

Seaweed and other sea vegetables contain beta-carotene, protein, vitamin B12, fiber, and chlorophyll, as well as chlorophylones - important fatty acids that may help in the fight against breast cancer. Many sea vegetables also have high concentrations of the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and iodine.
The 72 natural trace elements in all seafood are a powerful and highly effective natural remedy for many cancers, arthritis, MS, leukemia and many other 'incurable' diseases. This has now been proven over and over again by dozens of recent discoveries in the biomedical sciences.
Seaweed has been confirmed as one of Nature's "all- round pharmaceutical miracles" with claims that it can accomplish everything from warding off and treating several types of cancer, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, thin the blood, prevent ulcers, kill bacteria and even cure constipation.
As the seaweed is organic (easily broken down) and the natural vitamins, foundation minerals and vital nutrients are in such an assimilable form, this wonderful sea vegetable is of huge nutritional benefit and really is a natural whole food vitamin supplement.
Another problem seaweed can assist with is helping the body to maintain the acid/alkaline balance in blood, lymph and cells. Modern diet tends to favour carbohydrates, protein and fats, which can all become surplus acid deposits if our bodies do not have the means to fully metabolise them. Often this produces food allergy and intolerances, with acid build up in the system which is a cause of heartburn, indigestion, and ulcers. Seaweed can neutralise these acids so they can be safely eliminated and help restore balance.
Seaweed has been described as "the most nutritious form of vegetation on this planet", so the next time you spot some on the sea shore remember it is far more than a smelly weed!

Rosemary - A Perfumed Cure

Rosemary may help increase the activity of detoxification enzymes. An extract of rosemary, termed carnosol, has inhibited the development of both breast and skin tumors in animals. We haven't found any studies done on humans. Rosemary can be used as a seasoning. It can also be consumed as a tea: Use 1 tsp. dried leaves per cup of hot water; steep for 15 minutes.
This savory herb contains phytochemicals that can reduce the formation of cancer-causing compounds known as heterocyclic amines (HCAs). HCAs can form when the proteins in meat are heated to high temperatures.
Preliminary research also indicates that rosemary may enhance insulin sensitivity, improving the action and efficiency of insulin in the body, aiding in a healthy metabolism and slowing the aging process. And it turns out that Shakespeare’s Ophelia wasn’t all that far off when she said that rosemary is for remembrance. According to a study in Journal of Neurochemistry, rosemary contains the compound carnosic acid (CA), which helps protect the brain.
Two antioxidants found in rosemary oil such as caffic acid and rosemarinic acid prevent cellular damage caused by free radicals. The oil can be used for treating breast cancer which acts by regulating the production of estrogen.
One of the most common culinary herb, rosemary got its woody smell because of its terpenes fatty acids, that stop the formation of new cancerous cells. Its intake is highly recommended, especially while patients undergo chemotherapy.

Red Wine - Cure Responsibly

CAUTION: PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY (DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL IF UNDER APPROPRIATE AGE)

Red wine, even without alcohol, has polyphenols that may protect against various types of cancer. Polyphenols are potent antioxidants, compounds that help neutralize disease-causing free radicals. Also, researchers at the University of North Carolina's medical school in Chapel Hill found the compound resveratrol, which is found in grape skins. It appears that resveratrol inhibits cell proliferation and can help prevent cancer. However, the findings didn't extend to heavy imbibers, so it should be used in moderation. In addition, alcohol can be toxic to the liver and to the nervous system, and many wines have sulfites, which may be harmful to your health. Note: some research indicates that alcohol is considered a class "A" carcinogen which can actually cause cancer. You should probably switch to non-alcoholic wines.
A new study shows an antioxidant found in red wine destroys cancer cells from the inside and enhances the effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy cancer treatments.
Researchers say the antioxidant found in grape skins, known as resveratrol, appears to work by targeting the cancer cell's energy source from within and crippling it. When combined with radiation, treatment with resveratrol prior to radiation also induced cell death, an important goal of cancer treatment.

Papaya - A Perfect Cure

Papayas have vitamin C that works as an antioxidant and may also reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Papaya contains folacin (also known as folic acid), which has been shown to minimize cervical dysplasia and certain cancers.
Papaya leaf juice is claimed to have reversed cancer in many people living on the Gold Coast in Australia. Harold W. Tietze in his book Papaya The Medicine Tree, describes how to make the juice and tells the stories of many cancer survivors who reportedly used the juice to get rid of their cancer.
Now research in the United States has given scientific support to his claim, isolating a chemical compound in the papaya tree which is reported to be a million times stronger than the strongest anti-cancer drug. Mr Stan Sheldon, says the discovery does not surprise him. “I was dying from cancer in both lungs when it was suggested to me as an old Aboriginal remedy” he said. “I tried it for two months and then I was required to have a chest x-ray during those compulsory TB checks they used to have. They told me both lungs were clear.” “I told my specialists and they didn’t believe me until they had carried out their own tests.” “Then they scratched their heads and recommended I carry on drinking the extract I boiled out of
the papaya leaves.”
That was in 1962. The cancer never recurred. Since then Mrs Sheldon has passed the recipe onto other cancer victims. “Sixteen of them were cured,” he said. Mr Sheldon’s involves boiling and simmering fresh papaya leaves and stems in a pan for two hours before draining and bottling the extract. He said the mixture could be kept in a refrigerator though it may ferment after three or four days.“
The recipe is as follows:
Wash and partly dry several medium-size papaya leaves. Cut them up like cabbage and place them in a saucepan with 2 quarts/ litres of water. Bring the water and leaves to the boil and simmer without a lid until the water is reduced by half.
Strain the liquid and bottle in glass containers.
The concentrate will keep in the refrigerator for three to four days. If it becomes cloudy, it should be discarded.

Lemons and Oranges - our common greats!

Research at the J.S.S. College of Pharmacy in India indicates that a flavonoid found in all citrus fruits may reduce the toxicity of treatments using the antibiotic doxorubicin.
Citrus zest is full of compounds that fight cancer. When you squeeze a lemon (or peel an orange), save the skin.
Scientists at De Montfort University in the United Kingdom found that a compound in tangerine peel called salvestrol Q40 kills an enzyme that spurs the growth of human cancer cells.
Previous research has shown that limonene, a compound found in lemon, orange, and grapefruit peel, might also decrease cancer risk.

Raspberries - Great source of LIVING

Raspberries contain many vitamins, minerals, plant compounds and antioxidants known as anthocyanins that may protect against cancer. According to a recent research study reported by Cancer Research 2001;61:6112-6119, rats fed diets of 5% to 10% black raspberries saw the number of esophageal tumors decrease by 43% to 62%. A diet containing 5% black raspberries was more effective than a diet containing 10% black raspberries. Research reported in the journal Nutrition and Cancer in May 2002 shows black raspberries may also thwart colon cancer. Black raspberries are rich in antioxidants, thought to have even more cancer-preventing properties than blueberries and strawberries.
New research strongly suggests that a mix of preventative agents found in concentrated black raspberries could more effectively inhibit cancer development than single agents aimed at shutting down a particular gene.
Researchers examined the effect of freeze-dried black raspberries on genes altered by a chemical carcinogen in an animal model of esophageal cancer. The carcinogen affected the activity of 2,200 genes in the animals’ esophagus in only one week. However, 460 of those genes were restored to normal activity in animals that consumed freeze-dried black raspberry powder.

Mushrooms - they are great!

Mushrooms - There are a number of mushrooms that appear to help the body fight cancer and build the immune system - Shiitake, maitake, reishi, Agaricus blazei Murill, and Coriolus Versicolor. These mushrooms contain polysaccharides, especially Lentinan, powerful compounds that help in building immunity. They are a source of Beta Glucan. They also have a protein called lectin, which attacks cancerous cells and prevents them from multiplying. They also contain Thioproline. These mushrooms can stimulate the production of interferon in the body.
Extracts from mushrooms have been successfully tested in recent years in Japan as an adjunct to chemotherapy. PSK is made from the Coriolus Versicolor. Maitake mushroom extract is PCM4.
China has medical texts that are 4,000 years old documenting the benefits of the Reishi mushroom, Shiitake mushroom, and Cordyceps mushroom.
Extracts of the fungus Phellinus linteus that in the wild grows on mulberry trees and that is widely used in Japan, Korea and China for medicinal purposes may help fight cancer by slowing the growth of tumors and starving them of blood.
Extracts of this fungus have been used for centuries in Eastern Ancient medicine where it’s thought to have the power to rejuvenate and extend life.
Recent studies have indicated that the mushroom has the ability of holding back the growth of skin, lung and prostate cancer cells. Researchers also believe that this mushroom increases the amount of prostate cancer cells killed by the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin.
Scientists working with breast cancer at Indianapolis’ Methodist Research Institute found evidence that this mushroom blocks the activity of an enzyme called AKT which control signals that lead to cancer cells growth and the development of new blood vessels around them; blood vessels that are vital for the cancer cell survival.

Grapes! Sweet, Juicy Cure

Grapes, red contain bioflavonoids, powerful antioxidants that work as cancer preventives. Grapes are also a rich source of resveratrol, which inhibits the enzymes that can stimulate cancer-cell growth and suppress immune response. They also contain ellagic acid, a compound that blocks enzymes that are necessary for cancer cells - this appears to help slow the growth of tumors.

Alternative practitioners recommend the use of grapes and parts of the grape plant for high blood pressure, menopause, varicose veins, high cholesterol, skin rashes, and urination problems. They also claim it works for inflammation of the gums, throat, eyes, and mouth. Although used rarely today, the grape diet (see below) was promoted at different times in the twentieth century as a treatment to flush toxins from the body and protect the body against cancer and virtually all other diseases. Some supporters believed that the diet cured cancer.
Evidence suggests that proanthocyanidins, the chemical found in grape seed extract are powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that block the action of free radicals, activated oxygen molecules that can damage cells. Proponents claim that these antioxidants inhibit the development of some types of cancer, protect against heart disease, and are useful for treating a variety of medical conditions such as arthritis, allergies, circulatory problems, diabetes, water retention, and vision problems.
A compound called resveratrol, which is found in the skins of red grapes is being studied to see how it affects the development and progression of heart disease and cancer.

Garlic - what a great addition!

Garlic has immune-enhancing allium compounds (dialyl sultides) that appear to increase the activity of immune cells that fight cancer and indirectly help break down cancer causing substances. These substances also help block carcinogens from entering cells and slow tumor development. Diallyl sulfide, a component of garlic oil, has also been shown to render carcinogens in the liver inactive. Studies have linked garlic — as well as onions, leeks, and chives — to lower risk of stomach and colon cancer. Dr. Lenore Arab, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the UNC-CH (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) schools of public health and medicine and colleagues analyzed a number of studies and reported their findings in the October 2000 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. According to the report, people who consume raw or cooked garlic regularly face about half the risk of stomach cancer and two-thirds the risk of colorectal cancer as people who eat little or none. Their studies didn't show garlic supplements had the same effect. It is believed garlic may help prevent stomach cancer because it has anti-bacterial effects against a bacterium, Helicobacter pylori, found in the stomach and known to promote cancer there.
Several population studies conducted in China centered on garlic consumption and cancer risk. In one study, investigators found that frequent consumption of garlic and various types of onions and chives was associated with reduced risk of esophageal and stomach cancers, with greater risk reductions seen for higher levels of consumption. Similarly, in another study, the consumption of allium vegetables, especially garlic and onions, was linked to a reduced risk of stomach cancer. In a third study, greater intake of allium vegetables (more than 10 g per day vs. less than 2.2 g per day), particularly garlic and scallions, was associated with an approximately 50 percent reduction in prostate cancer risk.

The new wave is FLAX

Lignan, a fiber found in flax, is the latest hope in the treatment of cancer

Flax - the plant that gave grateful world the classic look of linen - hot research property nowadays. Prized for millennia as a source of seeds and cooking oil as well as cloth, the flax plant has also been long celebrated for its medicinal properties, especially in easing coughs. But the therapeutic potential of flax really took off in the late 20th century, when scientists found that flax seed is rich in alpha linolenic acid, an inflammation-alleviating omega-3 fatty acid.

Flax contains lignans, which may have an antioxidant effect and block or suppress cancerous changes. Flax is also high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are thought to protect against colon cancer and heart disease.
In one study men with prostate cancer who ate an ounce of ground flaxseeds (almost three tablespoons) a day as part of a very-low-fat diet were able to slow the progress of their cancers between the time they were diagnosed and the time of surgery. A similar study of women awaiting surgery for breast cancer found that those who ate a flaxseed muffin daily (with about four tablespoons of ground flaxseeds per muffin) had a slower tumor growth rate. Studies of animals, too, suggest some anti-cancer benefit from flaxseed. But it's always difficult to know whether it's the lignans that help, or some other element in the flaxseeds.

Figs are REAL CURE

Figs apparently have a derivative of benzaldehyde. It has been reported that investigators at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research in Tokyo say benzaldehyde is highly effective at shrinking tumors. In addition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says figs, which contain vitamin C and calcium, magnesium and potassium, may curtail appetite and improve weight-loss efforts. Fig juice is also a potent bacteria killer in test-tube studies.

Carrots contain a lot of beta carotene, which may help reduce a wide range of cancers including lung, mouth, throat, stomach, intestine, bladder, prostate and breast. Some research indicated beta carotene may actually cause cancer, but this has not proven that eating carrots, unless in very large quantities - 2 to 3 kilos a day, can cause cancer. In fact, a substance called falcarinol that is found in carrots has been found to reduce the risk of cancer, according to researchers at Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences (DIAS). Kirsten Brandt, head of the research department, explained that isolated cancer cells grow more slowly when exposed to falcarinol. This substance is a polyacethylen, however, so it is important not to cook the carrots.
The anti-cancer properties of carrots are enhanced 25 percent if they are cooked whole rather than chopped up beforehand, a study has found.
They taste better too, according to scientists at Newcastle University, because more of their sugar is retained.
"Chopping up your carrots increases the surface area so more of the nutrients leach out into the water while they are cooked," said lead researcher Dr Kirsten Brandt.
"By cooking them whole and chopping them up afterwards, you are locking in both taste and nutrients."
Brandt, along with colleagues at the University of Denmark, discovered the health benefits of the anti-cancer substance falcarinol in carrots four years ago.
A blind taste test they conducted among 100 people also found 80 percent preferred the taste of whole-cooked carrots.

Broccoli is LIFE

Eating 2.5 ounces a day of broccoli sprouts appeared to reduce the risk of stomach ulcers and probably stomach cancer including cancer of the esophagus, bladder, skin and lung, among others. The evidence is all pointing toward broccoli or broccoli sprouts being able to prevent cancer in humans. Broccoli contains sulforaphane,A study in Japan included 48 people infected with H. pylori Half ate 70 grams a day of broccoli sprouts, and the others ate alfalfa sprouts, which do not contain sulforaphane. After eight weeks, tests showed significantly lower levels of H. pylori infection in those who ate broccoli sprouts, with no reduction among the alfalfa sprout eaters.
Broccoli has a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol that can combat breast cancer by converting a cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety. Broccoli, especially sprouts, also have the phytochemical sulforaphane, a product of glucoraphanin - believed to aid in preventing some types of cancer, like colon and rectal cancer. Sulforaphane induces the production of certain enzymes that can deactivate free radicals and carcinogens. The enzymes have been shown to inhibit the growth of tumors in laboratory animals. However, be aware that the Agriculture Department studied 71 types of broccoli plants and found a 30-fold difference in the amounts of glucoraphanin. It appears that the more bitter the broccoli is, the more glucoraphanin it has. Broccoli sprouts have been developed under the trade name BroccoSprouts that have a consistent level of sulforaphane - as much as 20 times higher than the levels found in mature heads of broccoli.

Avocado BOOM!

Research has shown that nutrients from Hass avocados can prevent the development of oral cancer, a finding that may one day lead to a new cancer treatment.
Avocado oil is an edible oil pressed from the fruit of the Persea americana (avocado). Avocados are rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free radicals in the body by blocking intestinal absorption of certain fats. They also supply even more potassium than bananas and are a strong source of beta-carotene. Scientists also believe that avocados may also be useful in treating viral hepatitis (a cause of liver cancer), as well as other sources of liver damage.
Scientists from Ohio State University have found that certain nutrients from the avocados neutralise or restrict the growth of precancerous cells that could lead to oral cancer.
The studies found that phytochemicals from Hass avocados target multiple signalling pathways and kill precancerous cells by increasing the amount of active oxygen in the cells, without harming normal cells.
Haiming Ding from the Ohio State College of Medicine, who worked on the study, said: "These studies suggest that individual and a combination of phytochemicals from the avocado fruit may offer an advantageous dietary strategy in cancer prevention."

Apricot Kernel Magic

As we have mentioned before, Apricot Kernels have great health potentials. The formula is very simple. They contain AMYGDALINE (LAETRILE), which is a natural Vitamin (B17). It helps cure Cervical Cancer, even though, most doctors disagree with this. We have got stories of cancer survivors and us ourselves ate a lot of apricot kernels in our childhood. We have had no idea that these might contain CYANIDE - strong poison. But, as you can see, we have all survived and continue to live our lives. Here are some nutririon facts, that will help you to understand the healthy benefits of these wonderful kernels:

Red Hot Pepper Prevents and Cures

Capsaicin, which makes peppers hot, can cause prostate cancer cells to kill themselves, U.S. and Japanese researchers said on Wednesday.Capsaicin led 80 percent of human prostate cancer cells growing in mice to commit suicide in a process known as apoptosis, the researchers said.Prostate cancer tumors in mice fed capsaicin were about one-fifth the size of tumors in untreated mice, they reported in the journal Cancer Research."Capsaicin had a profound anti-proliferative effect on human prostate cancer cells in culture," said Dr. Soren Lehmann of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine."It also dramatically slowed the development of prostate tumors formed by those human cell lines grown in mouse models."While it is far easier to cure cancer in mice infected with human tumors than it is in human beings, the findings suggest a possible future treatment. They also may offer a good excuse for men who like spicy food to eat more of it.Lehmann estimated that the mice ate the human equivalent of 400 milligrams of capsaicin three times a week. That is about the amount found in three to eight fresh habanero peppers, depending on how hot the peppers are.The capsaicin inhibited the activity of NF-kappa beta, a molecular mechanism that helps lead to apoptosis in many cell types.

ALMONDS - natural source of living.

The sweet almond itself contains practically no carbohydrates and may therefore be made into flour for cakes and cookies (biscuits) for low-carbohydrate diets or for patients suffering from diabetes mellitus or any other form of glycosuria. Almond flour is gluten-free and therefore a popular ingredient in cookery in place of wheat flour for gluten-sensitive people and people with wheat allergies and coeliac disease. A standard serving of almond flour, 1 cup, contains 20 grams of carbohydrates, of which 10 g is dietary fibre, for a net of 10 g of carbohydrate per cup. This makes almond flour very desirable for use in cake and bread recipes by people on carbohydrate-restricted diets.
Almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E, containing 24 mg per 100 g. They are also rich in monounsaturated fat, one of the two "good" fats responsible for lowering LDL cholesterol.
Claimed health benefits of almonds include improved complexion, improved movement of food through the colon (feces) and the prevention of cancer. Recent research associates the inclusion of almonds in the diet with elevating the blood levels of high density lipoproteins and of lowering the levels of low density lipoproteins.
A controlled trial showed that 73g of almonds in the daily diet reduced LDL cholesterol by as much as 9.4%, reduced the LDL:HDL ratio by 12.0%, and increased HDL-cholesterol (i.e., the good cholesterol) by 4.6%.
In Ayurveda, an ancient system of health care that is native to the Indian subcontinent, almond is considered a nutritive for brain and nervous system. It is said to induce high intellectual level and longevity. Almond oil is called Roghan Badam in both Ayurveda and Tibb Yunani طب يوناني (the Greco-Persian System of Medicine). It is extracted by cold process and is considered a nutritive aphrodisiac both for massage and internal consumption. Recent studies have shown that the constituents of almond have anti-inflammatory, immunity boosting, and anti-hepatotoxicity effects.
Because of cases of Salmonella traced to almonds in 2001 and 2004, in 2006 the Almond Board of California proposed rules regarding pasteurization of almonds available to the public, and the USDA approved them. Since 1 September 2007, raw almonds have technically not been available in the United States. Controversially, almonds labeled as "raw" are required to be steam pasteurised or chemically treated with propylen oxyde. This does not apply to imported almonds, or to almonds sold from the grower directly to the consumer in small quantities.

The story of a man, who cured himself of Cancer

Please, read this story. It is true as confirmed by people who know this guy in-person.

"My father had bladder cancer, the tumor had gone thrugh the wall of his bladder and was so large they decided not to treat but just to remove his bladder.
8 weeks later after taking apricot kernels and no medication the tumor was gone.
He has had four six-monthly blood tests and from the first one he has been clear of cancer.
Myself I had a skin cancer they wanted to cut out with skin grafts etc planned. I now have a small hole where it was and all I took was apricot kernels.
If anyone wants to know more I am more than happy to help.
The cancer industry is a trillion dollar business. They have no interest in curing it.
Check out the links.
Take care
Lance"

This story really made me think it is possible and even more - I have heard from many people that apricot kernels and almond kernels are great anti-cancer source we have got.

I would like to hear from everyone, who had any kind of experience and heard of any other examples of positive curing using natural products. We can make better living knowing more about nature with our experience through life.

Thank you, everyone, who participated.
